This was a loooooong week and I'm happy my time at the MTC is coming to a close. I'm thrilled to head off to Michigan on Thursday and encourage others to have joy in the redemption and glory of our creator and his son.
My companions and I have improved as teachers significantly since day one and I've obtained a lot of patience on the way. I've had a very spiritual time lately and have come to realize that I have a loooooong way to go to be the person I want to be.
In the old testament. Job was one of the richest men of his time owning thousands of live stock. Hundreds of acres and hundreds of servants. He was a man of faith and God wanted him to be tested due to his prosperity in material so he allowed satan to strip him of his riches and humiliate him on the stage of the world and Job did not fall away but he kneeled and prayed to his creator in respect (Job 1: 19-21) his family was killed by the hands of satan and the man was physically afflicted for the primal years of his life but he endured and did what ever the lord commanded him to do. In Jobs later days he obtained riches doubled of what he had had before and was clothed In glory as one of Gods most faithful toughest sons.
I'm serving a mission to obtain the meekness, obedience and toughness of men like Job, Jarad, Nephi, and my absolute idol... Moroni from the Book of Mormon. Moroni had watched the wicked ways of the world unfold around him and sat on a spiritual pillar of glory as he served his god and obtained wisdom through endurance and knowledge and shared his wisdom for all the world in his last days. (Moroni 10: 30-34)
I've been brought to my knees in my past due to the natural man but thanks to the gospel of Christ I can be Moroni's advocate and spend every waking hour I have to be like him. I testify of the fullness of the Book of Mormon and for all those who might not be baptized a member I plead that you give the book a chance. The stories of those testifying of Christ in the ancient Americas are moving and inspiring. I'm growing minute by minute every day and repenting continuously. I'm becoming more content with simply having the Holy Ghost as my light and I plan on living up to what my patriarchal blessing has for me.
God bless this church and those who have loved me and strengthened my faith. Especially my family and my bishop and my best friend. I cant WAIT TILL I email you all again as I'll be in the upper peninsula sharing my knowledge and testimony to those receptive. I love this work and am beyond thankful for the many friends and blessings I've obtained along the way. The bottom picture is Moses parting the red sea... a mural by my class room.
