Is Peanut Butter the Answer?

Hello all.

I hope everyone is thriving!

This week was just another nice period of time being a missionary. I gave 4 blessings to members of my ward that either were suffering from cancer, high fevers or cellulose. Doing a lot of ministering to those families as they are mostly part member families and had a few opportunities to teach lessons and I must say that teaching lessons beats door knocking or finding ANY DAY!!

One person we are teaching just told us he was on probation for domestic violence and his wife who is a member of the church and who is seemingly forcing her husband's baptism in September is denying the fact that he can't be baptized until he is released from probation because that is how it is. The wife has been creating contention with the Bishop and even our Mission President and it almost looks like a reality TV show. I pray that this fiasco will work out in due time.

I also got my driving privilages on Wednesday so now I feel like a missionary who knows what I'm doing Haha. It was about 2 months sense I've driven last and luckily it made no difference and I missed it a lot. Something odd about Michigan is that you can turn left in an intersection at a blinking red light so long as you yield to oncoming traffic. On day two of me driving the streets of East Lansing I witnessed an insane car accident right in front of me as someone was blindly turning left as a massive Uhaul truck took the car out going 45 mph .... sending the car into orbit as it took out the front windows of a smoke shop. It was insane and we stuck around to make sure everyone was ok untill a shirtless guy ran out of his house dismissing Elder Duffin and I saying "God cant help real life situations like this." We gave him a restoration pamphlet of the church and left as first responders showed up. Just Lansing things I guess.

I've learned that teaching lessons is much more enjoyable then finding and I hope that is something I get more of in the future.... it makes the days speed by. In my personal studies I'm using the footnotes of the Gospel so I can connect the prophesies and circumstances that happen in the Bible to the Book of Mormon to prove to people that the book is true.

For example. In 1 Nephi chapter 7, the prophet Lehi predicts the downfall of Jerusalem and takes his family into the wilderness. He shared that Jerimiah was going to prophesy about these happenings in the holy city as the two knew each other. In the book of Jerimiah in the same time period... chapters 35 through 45 included Jeremiah's prosecution for speaking against the Jewish culture then the city being plundered and burned. The Book of Mormon has many more of these examples of biblical accuracy and I testify that it is true.

I'm also doing a much better job at being optimistic. I'm finally starting to accept and adapt to the fact that this new schedule will be life for another 21 months or so and I can do it. It's becoming easier as days go by. I miss everyone very much and always appreciate the support via email.

If your still reading then you get the honors of knowing that I've been experimenting all with food so I can stay healthy and all week this week I've been blending all that I eat in a blender and I must say it's amazing because I always inhale my food anyway. I make a wonderful egg, bacon, spinach, and red pepper shake every morning for breakfast and its hilariously excellent. Yeah I'm crazy but I'll do what I have to do. Exercising every day which also contributes to a good well being and a large supply of diet coke. There were 4 occasions where stress got the best of me and I ended up binge eating a full jar of peanut butter in less then 10 minutes which needs to stop.

Please pray for me Hahaa. I'll keep working hard and till next time.

Ps the weather is bi polar.. rain and sunshine take turns every day.

Love,
Elder Connolly
